Overseas Roaming Rates Hack

Problem: Roaming phone calls are absurdly expensive.  $1.29/min if you are lucky in Western Europe and $3.29/min in many other places, like Ukraine.  Incoming calls are charged at the same rate too.

If you are already paying for an unlimited roaming data plan on your Blackberry (or even if you are not), there is a way to make calls like a decent human being.

1) Get another GSM phone, used, etc, anything will do.
2) Get a local SIM card in the country where you are spending lots of time. I have a Kyivstar one here.
3) Use your Blackberry to initiate a call between this second phone and your destination via Jajah (or mobile site).
4) Pay around 0.10-0.25c/min via Jajah, and nothing on your second GSM phone.
