Lessons best learned early.
It doesn’t really matter when you learn to hire, as long as you learn to hire sometime before hiring a bunch of people. It REALLY matters when you learn skills related to self-improvement (how to learn, how to network, etc.)
Skills that help you become more efficient/better have payoffs that compound over time. When possible, you should focus on learning more skills that have compounding value, rather than practical skills that simply help you execute something.
If you find a skill that fits both categories — switch your focus to learn that.
